Embark on a Journey To Ancient Lands to Find Your Roots & Ground in Your Body
Coming home to ourselves - body, mind and spirit - is an essential part of healing. Healing on all these levels helps us live from a deeper place of inner peace and love for self, for others and for life.
Connecting to our bodies and the natural elements around us awakens our remembrance that we are part of nature, and that nature is part of us. Our bodies are created from the natural elements, and the life force of Nature flows through our bodies.
We are one with Nature, our ancestors and all that came before us. Our Ancient Wisdom Retreat is where we re-connect to ourselves and the beauty of life.
Namibia is home to one of the most magical ancient landscapes in the world. At 80 million years old, the Namib desert is the oldest desert on Earth, and is known for being home to some of Africa's strangest flora and fauna.
This 2,000 kilometre desert stretches along Namibia’s western coastline and is almost entirely uninhabited. As one of the least populated countries in the world, the expansiveness of the Namibian landscape feels wild and free. It is here that our primal connection to life will be supported by the ancient wisdom of this land.
Let's experience the most spectacular sunsets, go to sleep with endless stars and allow ourselves to be infused with the wisdom of this ancient land.
Meet us at Walvis Bay airport and together we take a short 30 minute drive to Swakopmund where you will spend most of the retreat. Shower, rest and meet your group and end the day with a relaxing yin yoga class.
Today is all about settling in, grounding and getting familiar with your new environment. We will start the day with a gentle yoga class and pranayama, check out the town centre and talk about the 5 elements are their importance in nature and to us.
We begin the day with a grounding walking meditation, connecting to the new land and finding our inner roots. We continue with a journey into our root chakra through yoga and learn a breathing technique that can help us stay grounded and balanced in overwhelming environments.
We then take a tour past a small coastal town and the fields of lichens – magical tiny organisms consisting of fungi and algae living in a symbiotic relationship that are adapted to survive in the harsh desert conditions by living on fog moisture alone. The tour continues to the Spitzkoppe mountain – a majestic granite mountain standing alone within a wide expanse of desert. We will stay inside tented rooms on stilts while enjoying the magical stillness of the desert mountain under a beautiful starry sky. The mountain holds many treasures – crystals like tourmaline, aquamarine, crystal quartz and topaz will support your healing in this place, as we do Qi gong and hold a Full Moon ceremony with a moon spiced tea. In this ancient place we will also enjoy a traditional African Braai (barbecue) for dinner, under the stars.
Being part of a of full moon ritual is a powerful way to release what no longer serves you and make space for new beginnings. Together we will tap into the universal power of release and experience the profound peace it brings to your life.
We will connect with the fire element at a beautiful sunrise in the mountain with a yoga practice and meditation. Here we will have an outdoor breakfast and then drive back to Swakopmund. In the afternoon we will write our transformational letters followed by a Conscious Connected Breathwork journey helping you to release pent up emotions, fears and all that no longer serves you and your highest self. In return bringing clarity, confidence and courage to live your most authentic life.
The day will end with a fire ceremony, dance, music and a celebration of life.
Beginning the day with morning pranayama and connect with the air element through gentle movement. After breakfast, we will explore the local town centre of Swakopmund and visit the Crystal Gallery, home to the largest Quartz crystal in the world, and a local gemstone shop to explore all the beautiful crystals that Namibia is known for.
After allowing time to relax in the afternoon, we will take a walk through the ancient sand dunes at sunset and connect with the Air element. Feel the freedom of exploring the Namibian sand Dunes as you walk through one of nature's great wilderness and finish the day with a cacao ceremony and Qi gong on the dunes. Followed by a lovely deeply restful yoga nidra.
The day starts with a boat tour through the lagoon of the neighbouring Walvis Bay, connecting to the water element with meditation and pranayama on the boat. We will meet the local marine life, including seals, dolphins, pelicans and perhaps even some whales.
With connection to the element of water and our sacral chakra, the place of creation and where life begins. The afternoon will hold a beautiful water ceremony and a water inspired yoga flow at the local beach, ending the day with the gentleness of the water element at sunset. Water helps us connect with our feminine energy and encourages us to gracefully surrender to the currents of life, to trust that they will continue to carry us forward. After all, even in the midst of turbulent waters, you'll find it's still calm under the surface.
This day gives us a bit of rest as we have an easy start to the day and some free time in the morning, after which we will embark on an excursion to Sandwich Harbour Lagoon – a drive through the desolate natural landscape where the dunes meet the ocean.
Here we can feel the ancient wisdom of the Namib desert far away from civilization, and witness the majestic Earth and Water elements joining in their dance of life. We will experience some of the largest dunes in the world, and explore the wildlife that survives in the desert.
In the evening we will do a meditation in which we explore how the elements interact and intermingle in Nature; and combine together all that we have learnt about connecting to the 4 elements and we will bring it all into one, back home to yourself.
This day is all about taking it easy and relaxing into our bodies, allowing us to integrate all our experiences so far. We start the day with a gentle yoga practice and today there will be time to book your own tours, choosing from a wide variety of local tours such as Camel rides, Quad biking tours, Living desert tours, scenic flights over the dunes, kayaking tours, etc.
There will also be space to book a 1:1 treatment with Sybille to reset your nervous system and integrate all the deep transformation your body and spirit is going through.
We start the day driving to Omaruru Game Lodge to experience all the African animals up close. We will meet Sammy the hand-reared tame Giraffe and see many animals directly from the dining area including zebra, oryx and other types of antelope; and you can even touch a rhino or two! The lodge is also home to cheetahs and hippos, and the safari game drive tour will take us to see the elephants that come right up to the car!
We will meditate to connect to our own spirit animal while being immersed in this wonderful experience, and enjoy the rest of the day with delicious local cuisine and enjoy a soothing evening in the African bush.
After a last breakfast and a closing circle surrounding by the African wildlife, we will head back home to Swakopmund.
From here you travel home feeling renewed, connected and inspired by the natural elements and filled with love for the wisdom the landscape and animals have shared with us.

We hope to see elephants, giraffes, kudu, oryx, zebra, cape buffalo, rhino, hippo, wildebeest, springbok and so much more!
