When we are in Sataya, we learn to let go of control and go with the flow. Below is how a typical day may look like, but please note we go with the flow of the dolphins. If they are particularly playful and energetic we will take that opportunity and swim with them.

The most beautiful thing about being together on a boat is the community feeling; making friends for life and having meaningful, thought provoking conversations. You and your children connect with other families, learning from one another and becoming closer through the multiple memories that you will create. If you are someone who needs some alone time, don't worry - there is always space to get away from the group to reflect or relax.
The boat has 12 twin cabins with individual air- condition, private bathrooms with hot water shower and toilets.
All Bedding & towels are provided, as well as 24/7, 220v electricity supply (European-style 2-pin electrical
wall sockets).
You will share your room with one other person, or if there is availability and for an extra fee you can have a private cabin.
A delicious buffet, three times a day where you can enjoy a rich variety of delicious food. Vegan, vegetarian, and fish/meat options are available. Between meals, you can replenish with snacks and fresh juice made of fruits of the day (the mango in Egypt is heavenly)!
Scuba Diving: Breathing underwater for the first time is a very special feeling. Sataya is the perfect place to try this out with calm water and shallow depths. But there is also a lot to see for those who want to explore further. You might even find Nemo!

You will be picked up from your hotel or airport and together we drive through the coastal and desert landscapes to Hamata Port, where our boat will be waiting for us. You will check in on the boat in the late afternoon, settle in, have dinner and meet your new friends. We can help with your airport transfers, visa questions, flight and hotel recommendations.
Yes, they really are wild and they choose to interact and connect with us out of their own free will. We will have daily morning, midday and afternoon dolphin time. When we are out in the open Red Sea, we experience a glimpse of their freedom, what it's like to be a free dolphin and can begin to imagine what our life could be like if only we allowed ourselves the same freedom back on land. We watch how they take care of one another, observe their tight family pods and how they love to play, inspiring us to take life less seriously and to make each moment count.
Maja will hold daily yoga classes for the adults and one introductionary yoga class for the teenagers. Each night after dinner, everyone is invited to a guided meditation class where you and your teens will practice focusing on the present moment and being able to reflect on your thoughts and emotions of the day. You and your family will walk away with a set of tools that will help in stressful and overwhelming situations, and guide you towards conscious decision making.
The waters of the Red Sea are home to over 300 species of coral and 2,100 species of fish, 10% of which are found nowhere else in the world. With the salinity being higher than most other seas, it makes for relaxed and easy floating. When the Spinner dolphins come into the reef area we are ready to meet them with ease. Even for those who are young, have little or no experience snorkeling, or just not too sure about the water…yet. Yep! We’ve seen it happen time and again. Our guides are skilled that way, with patience and a keen sense of how to get to the other side of apprehension. It’s because of their knowledge, intuition, and kindness that we can connect with the dolphins up close and frequently during our week together. Combine this with the breathing techniques taught on board and the whole family can find their own speed ahead.
The Egyptian culture is the only culture to have its own formal category of study, Egyptology! From pyramids and temples to elaborate burial rituals and hieroglyphics, there is a richness and majesty to this culture that never seems to end! Weather you join us at the weeks end for some land-based sight seeing, or make your own travel destination plans, you will get an introduction to the history of this amazing county. We will also share some of our tested travel tips and some of our favorite places. Need help deciding what to add to your list? We can’t wait to share what we know!
It’s nice to shake up the dynamics a bit! Sometimes we find ourselves going at life automatically, a series of routine-driven, repeating days. We aim to hit that sweet spot between time apart and time together, as much as we can while living our best boat life!
With a lot of thought to the scheduling; we will gather as teens, parents, mothers and daughters, and fathers and sons. We will spend time off the boat on excursions, as well as time on the boat, but different decks, with the intention of making that time special and unique, filling every family member up with something to share when you all gather next.
The Red Sea is the perfect place to advance and add to your skills in the water. With the water temperature being around 98 F (37 C) and visibility ranging from 20-40 meters, it allows us to spend a lot of quality time in the water. This is perfect for families of all levels of water experience. Weather you are an experienced diver; curious about SCUBA certification, learning freediving skills, or have no experience at all, we can meet your family where you are at!

Meet Tammy, a lover of travel and culture at an early age. As a young teenager, her father took her into the jungles of Mexico to experience Mayan ruins. It was a formative experience for her and greatly shaped her path forward. She graduated with a degree in anthropology, with minors in both physical and cultural anthropology. During the summers, she traveled and worked in the Alaskan salmon processing industries, on cattle ranches, farms, quality control labs, and restaurants. After marrying her college boyfriend and getting SCUBA certified, they started exploring underwater worlds in Fiji, Micronesia, Ecuador, Hawaii, Bonaire, and the kelp forests of Northern California, adding Egypt to the list last summer! Tammy continues to explore her relationship with water and will complete her first cold water training with a certified Wim Hof instructor in February.
Food naturally developed into a topic of love and curiosity that paired well with travel. Tammy worked as a private chef for families in Silicon Valley for five years. She went on to learn the craft of chocolate and did an apprenticeship with a top ranking chocolatier. After serving as a childbirth doula for six years, Tammy and her husband had two daughters. Tammy has been networking with home and worldschooling families for the past 13 years. She finds great joy in spending time with teenagers; offering encouragement, time, and space for them to explore their curiosities.
We understand that you might have questions. We are here to support you and your family every step of the way!
During our sharing circles on the boat, it has come to light that whilst in the water with the dolphins, participants experience moments of pure clarity, an abundance of love, a deep rooted feeling of belonging and a dissolution of the ego. They find answers to questions they had spent months or even years contemplating and some even experience the feeling of their hearts physically expanding and energy flowing. I, amongst the others, have experienced this overwhelming, divine love that the dolphins choose to share with us. There are no words to describe it, only that it feels as though nothing really matters, only the here and the now with them. And isn’t this what so many of us are searching for? The ability to be fully present and in complete acceptance with all that has happened, is happening and will happen. The dolphins show us that the most important moment in life is now, as they help us taste the essence of the present moment with their wild, free spirit.
There is a fundamental difference in the experience that you will have when choosing to interact with wild dolphins and those that are being held in captivity. We cannot “swim” with wild dolphins, unless the dolphins choose to swim with us. It is they who decide on the closeness of our interaction; which makes our connection with them authentic. We cannot help but be in total awe of their trust as they come to us, at an arm's length with their young. We are entering their world and they are welcoming us into their home.
Wild dolphins choose to connect and interact with us, perhaps out of curiosity, love or because they intuitively know that they can help us heal our physical, emotional and spiritual wounds. During one of the retreats, a girl who has recently undergone a serious stomach surgery was swimming around a pod of dolphins. Suddenly one dolphin came close and touched her belly with its mouth and then swam away. Of course we could say this was a pure coincidence, but there is research that points to the effects that a dolphin’s ultrasound can have life-altering effects on people with terminal illnesses, mental disabilities and has been shown to strengthen the immune system. Dolphins are highly intelligent beings, who have the ability to help us become better versions of ourselves. Yet, they also deserve to be wild and free, and to have the choice of how and if they interact with us. Choosing to seek a connection with a dolphin, should always be done so in the wild and not in captivity.
Love, Maja
Yes! We will make our way from the port to Sataya on early Sunday morning. The journey from mainland to Sataya takes around 2 hours, and we will stay anchored there until the following Saturday morning.
Absolutely. We can offer assistance and support their experience in the water. However we do recommend that you and your family have had SOME swim lessons before, you don't need to be a strong swimmer but having some foundation will make your experience much more enjoyable.
Our chef on board is amazing at not only making delicious food, but can also cater to a variety of intolerances and allergies. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any specific requirements.
No - everything we do on the boat is optional. You can choose to join in as much as you like, and take time out whenever you need.
The remarkable Reef in the Red Sea offers refuge to marine life, prevent species extinction, and play a crucial role in revitalizing other reefs worldwide.
The Red Sea is home to approximately 300 varieties of hard and soft coral species, with the Porites (Finger corals) and Acropora (staghorn, elkhorn, and table corals) stony corals being the prevalent species among them.
The corals in the Red Sea display remarkable tolerance to harsh conditions, including heat, elevated water temperatures, and salinity. These distinctive characteristics suggest that Red Sea corals are more likely to endure climate and environmental challenges compared to reefs in other regions.
In the face of challenges posed by climate change, the Red Sea reefs are generally deemed healthy in comparison to counterparts worldwide. While certain areas have suffered significant damage due to unregulated coastal development, there have been no reported instances of widespread coral bleaching thus far.
